Love and Joy at a UK Beach Hut Wedding

It was a windy and rainy day on the Kent coast as I arrived at Beach Hut Weddings, the intimate venue for Brad and Nicola. For months I had been excited to capture this lovely couple’s big day, and it finally arrived!

The Charm of a Beach Hut Wedding

When you think of having your wedding on a beach, the UK would never be the first thing on people’s minds as this country is known for its unpredictable weather, even in the summer! However, for those who dream of getting married by the sea, this unique beach hut wedding venue is perfect.

As I made my way to the beach hut, I was struck by the picturesque setting. With the ocean stretched out into the horizon, the waves crashing against the shore, the sound of seagulls, and the salty air- it provided a perfect backdrop for the day’s festivities. 

Anticipation

At the hotel Brad was getting ready with his groomsmen, the most important groomsman of all being his and Nicola’s son. Seeing them getting prepared together for this big day was a precious moment to capture. 

Meanwhile, in Nicola’s room, the bridal party buzzed around to ensure that everything was as perfect as can be. Though the nerves were starting to settle in, Nicola looked simply stunning in her Wed2B dress.

The Bride’s Majestic Entrance

As the ceremony approached, I made my way to the beach hut where the guests were gathering. Brad pulled up to the scene in an impressive, vintage, white Ford Mustang, and despite the weather, the atmosphere was electric as the guests waited for the bride’s arrival in a horse-drawn carriage.

As Brad and Nicola exchanged their vows, I was struck by the raw emotions on display. Their love for each other was palpable, and every guest was caught up in the moment. Even the typical British weather couldn’t dampen the mood!

Reception Fun and Food

After the ceremony, the newlyweds hopped on a carousel ride, a fun addition to the day’s celebrations. The ride provided a fun and relaxed opportunity for me to capture some candid shots of the happy couple.

For their wedding lunch, the guests enjoyed a reception of fish and chips. The food was a perfect match to the seaside setting. Brad surprised everyone with a self-written first dance song, which had Nicola in tears. It was a special moment that I was thrilled to capture.

Using the Wind to Your Advantage

Throughout the day, I had to work with challenging weather conditions, particularly the wind. However, I used it to my advantage, capturing stunning shots of the bride’s veil flowing in the wind. Miraculously, I even caught some drone footage! Utilising nature to create beautiful photos of the couple and their guests was a must on this day too. As the day came to an end, I was exhausted but exhilarated. I had the privilege of capturing Brad and Nicola’s special day, and I knew that the photos I took would be cherished for years to come. It was a joy to see the love and happiness between the couple and their families and to be a part of their unforgettable day.

The soft light filtering through the windows and the gentle sound of seagulls in the distance added to the tranquil and cozy atmosphere.
