I'm a wedding photographer and videographer and I love capturing weddings all around the world.
Not every couple dreams of having a grand wedding with all the regalities. Instead, they appreciate the minimal approach, without all the hectic planning.
Ruth and Nael decided to keep it small and intimate and have a registry office wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall. We were not blessed with sunny weather on the day of the shooting, but the love of these two and their guests can just be felt through the photos.
We started with Ruth and Nael preparing for the ceremony by themselves, enjoying the quiet time before they swore to eternal love. Ruth looked absolutely stunning in her modern and stylish white gown, while Nael was a true gentleman in his black tuxedo.
Walking towards the Chelsea Old Town Hall, we used the rich history of the nearby streets to take some stunning photos of the two. They fitted in so perfectly among the vast array of period homes with bursting colours, allowing me to capture some postcard moments.
I couldn’t help but notice that both of them didn’t stop smiling, showing how eager they were for their registry office wedding. Once we arrived at Chelsea Old Town Hall, we were greeted by their families and friends. Happiness could be read on everyone’s faces.
Ruth’s father gave a warmhearted speech that made everyone both laugh and cry. Another of Ruth’s family members said a few more words to express the importance of the couple’s love to both families. She wished them a long and strong marriage filled with love while everyone’s eyes glistened with unshed tears.
Photographing the “signing of the deal” was a joy. I couldn’t resist capturing the smiles across Ruth and Nael’s face. Extreme love could be felt in the room as these two families of different cultural backgrounds united as one. Ruth and Nael’s parents showed their gratitude for the love story of this beautiful colour throughout the entire registry office wedding.
Once the ceremony was over, I used the opportunity to take a few photos of the couple alone in the registry office. Photographing a wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall provides a stylish and timeless setting that both photographers and couples adore.
We then moved on to the group portraits, where both families joined the fun. Once the traditional throwing of the rose petals was completed, all guests joined the couple on the hall’s steps for the photo shoot. And what a shoot it was!
Stylish ladies dressed in gowns and men wearing suits stood on the steps and had the time of their lives. I must admit that I enjoyed shooting this excited London wedding party!
Before heading off to their private reception and celebrating their love, Ruth and Nael joined me one last time to take a few more couple’s photos of the stunning cherry blossom trees in the nearby street. We were not blessed with the sun, which is quite normal in the UK, though the clouds gave us dramatic scenery for their photos. The rose petals of the cherry blossom were the perfect choice for this lovely couple.
Ruth and Nael’s registry office wedding was nothing short of perfect! The intimate and heartfelt atmosphere helped me capture memories the couple will appreciate for a lifetime.
