Michael and Tabitha said “I do” in front of their closest family and friends in picturesque Switzerland. As their destination wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing all the love that filled this special occasion.
I met this couple in the UK when they asked me to photograph their civil ceremony at Brent Civic Centre. We then went to Hill Garden and Pergola for their post wedding photos and they loved my work so much that they asked me to come along to their destination wedding in Switzerland, Tabitha’s home country.
After landing in Switzerland at 11 pm, I didn’t get to my hotel until 3 am. Despite the late night and minimal sleep, I woke up at the crack of dawn- 6 am! Luckily as I was staying in the same hotel as the groom, I did not have to travel for his preparation pictures.
It was a beautiful Summer day when Michael and Tabitha’s families met at Philadelphia Missionary Church to watch them exchange their vows. To everyone standing by to witness, the couple’s love was almost tangible as they looked into each other’s eyes. Standing at the altar in Switzerland for their dream destination wedding, ready to spend the rest of their life together, they could barely contain their joy and excitement. The emotions were beautiful to witness; it was an honour to be the one to immortalise these moments with my camera. If you like what you see, you can book me here.
The newlyweds quickly raced away from the crowds for some privacy at a romantic photoshoot. We went to a nearby prehistoric church which was nothing short of majestic. As we entered the building through the towering double doors, I had to admire the grand architecture surrounding us. The stone walls, wooden pews, and stained glass windows were a striking backdrop for Michael and Tabitha’s portrait session.
Their family’s colourful South Asian outfits were a bright contrast against Michael and Tabitha’s white garments. As the celebrations continued at the performance and event venue- Markthalle Burgdorf, the happy couple also changed into their own unique outfits. The radiant bride was sporting a gorgeous saree and the groom a dashing sherwani from Mongas– they looked fantastic.
The following day, with my camera ready, we set off for an unforgettable couple’s photoshoot at the Oeschinen Lake in the Swiss Alps. Given its soaring elevation of 5,177 ft, my physical endurance was pushed to the limit as we hiked up the mountain, especially while carrying a heavy rucksack with all my equipment on my back. But the view was truly breathtaking so it all paid off.
This post-wedding shoot in the Swiss Alps really highlighted why destination weddings are so popular these days. They allow couples to celebrate with their family and friends while also exploring new places.
Michael and Tabitha’s destination wedding in Switzerland was one for the books! The couple’s intimate celebration and stunning views of the Swiss Alps made a perfect way to start their forever journey together.
No matter where couples choose to say “I do”; I’m here to capture all the moments that make their wedding truly unique and unforgettable. Just take a look at my other work here! Whether it’s a destination wedding in Switzerland or an elopement in the UK, I ensure every couple’s special day is documented with care and creativity.
Cheers to Michael and Tabitha! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and bliss!
