Spectacle of Colours: A Gorgeous Hindu Wedding

One of the best things about being a destination wedding photographer is that you’re always in for a surprise! I’m not only talking about the destination – each celebration boasts its own vibe, be it laid-back or energetic, and naturally, the experience is never the same. This time around, I got invited to capture a gorgeous Hindu wedding, and nothing would’ve prepared me for this spectacle!

As with any couple, I always encourage you to step out of your comfort zone to create something different and unexpected. With Shyam and Meeka, this was as effortless as ever! Their entire day was filled with festivities and high-packed energy, though they were incredibly calm throughout their entire Hindu wedding, knowing they were in the safest hands they could be.

This traditional Hindu wedding was one for the books – let me show you how it all went down.

Traditions Abound!

Before all the festivities began, I took the time to meet Meeka in her bridal room to capture a few portraits. As you may know, Hindu weddings, especially the bridal outfits, are known for their countless intricate details. Meeka’s gorgeous gown was no exception. There were so many ornate adornments, I didn’t know where to look first!

Once we entered the ceremony space, we had a whole other surprise waiting for us. Elegance took centre stage – there were flowers everywhere, along with golden accents and glamorous curtains. It didn’t take long for the ceremony space to become flooded with guests, marking the beginning of this vibrant Hindu wedding.

Naturally, traditional Hindu weddings are known for their never-ending customs, and Meeka and Shyam opted for as many as they could! There wasn’t a single dull moment throughout the entire ceremony. Luckily, I was there to capture every single moment of it. As you can imagine, vibrant celebrations such as these don’t come around too often.

A Moment Of Tranquility

As the ceremony was simmering down, I sneaked outside with the couple for their portrait session. They appreciated their moment of peace and solitude, allowing them to reflect on everything that happened so far. Soon after, they started posing for the camera and were absolutely amazing.

What’s even more impressive is that Meeka and Shyam were doing all of this in the freezing cold. Even though they opted for a December Hindu wedding, the cold didn’t do a single number on them. They powered through, and we made ethereal photos together.

Reception Like No Other

If there’s one thing I adore about Hindu wedding receptions is all the dancing! Sitting down during this celebration is practically impossible as the energy is simply infectious.

Once the couple stepped onto the scene, the guests were in full party mode. Speaking of the guests, they had the most amazing outfits. From classy to explosively colourful, this reception was refreshingly diverse and unique.

Meeka and Shyam’s Hindu wedding simply exceeded my expectations – this is one of those celebrations that linger in your mind for quite some time.
