I'm a wedding photographer and videographer and I love capturing weddings all around the world.
Isabelle and Carlo’s celebration of love was simply a dream. Their winter wedding was undeniably an amazing experience. They dreamed of getting married during the holiday season, so their wedding took place only two weeks before Christmas.
They really put a lot of thought and creativity into their ideas for a winter wedding, and executed them perfectly! The cake decor and bridal bouquet were just some of the details that captivated me as soon as I saw them, not to mention the colour of the bridesmaids’ dresses that warmed the coldest December day.
Festive celebrations such as these are always a treat for any destination wedding photographer – myself included! Let me show you some of the best moments from the couple’s elegant affair.
Isabelle and Carlos have managed to reflect the season without overpowering it. Photographing these details is where I let my creativity shine. For one, the bridal bouquet was absolutely captivating. It boasted a stunning mix of snow-white roses and greenery, accented with the deep red color of the winter florals.
What gave this winter wedding a festive accent were the bridesmaids’ dresses. The richness of the dress’s deep red colour added a cohesive, festive charm and was the perfect contrast to Isabelle’s wedding gown. This was especially a joy to shoot during portrait photos.
Shooting December weddings comes with a set of challenges, but Isabelle and Carlos embraced it wholeheartedly. They braved the cold while we did the couple’s portraits as well as some of the group ones. Luckily, Isabelle wore a cozy shawl to keep her warm, adding an extra texture layer to the images.
When the winter wedding reception started, and Isabelle and Carlos joined their guests for the informal part, it was impossible not to notice the venue decorations. Twinkling lights framing the windows, the scent of pine lingering in the air, and garlands adorning the staircases—what can I say? The venue was dressed in its holiday best.
And what to say about the cake? A true work of art! The low-angle shot showed subtle hints of holiday inspiration, allowing some of the details to shine. The snow white and blood red roses from the bridal and the bridesmaids’ bouquets were used for the decoration. The winter greenery added that festive moment.
The winter wedding also included a prayer, which all the guests joined, after which came the memorable speeches about how Isabelle and Carlos fell in love. The presence of children and young adults enriched this family celebration, planting the seed of the future generations that will emerge from this couple’s love, which they didn’t try to hide. We all saw it throughout the celebration, but it was especially visible during their first dance.
This December wedding was a perfect example of how the holiday spirit can transform a significant day with just a few thoughtful details. Every moment of Isabelle and Carlos’ wedding felt like a gift to me as their photographer.
I enjoyed the whole day spent with this beautiful couple. It was a joy to photograph guests laughing and dancing, showing their love and support for Isabelle and Carlos’ new chapter in life.
