A Spectacular Santorini Elopement

It was a remarkable sight to behold when Dal and Mark said “I do” on the romantic Greek island of Santorini. Amidst the towering volcanic scenery and surrounded by the sparkling Aegean Sea, their intimate elopement was an unforgettable experience.

While some may consider eloping a little offbeat, it was just right for Dal and Mark’s laid-back personalities. The couple is celebrating a larger wedding in the summer in London, but the allure of eloping in Santorini was too powerful for Dal and Mark to resist.

They fell head over heels for its pastel-hued sunsets, the charm of its white-washed buildings, and the irresistible blend of history and luxury. This picturesque island offered them the perfect backdrop for their pre-marital celebration, a decision that felt spontaneous, romantic, and oh-so-right! Even though the grand London affair lies ahead, this secret Santorini elopement added a private chapter of love and adventure to their story, a tale they’ll be thrilled to recount in years to come.

As I arrived at the hotel, I was welcomed with a flurry of emotion. Dal was busy getting ready for the big day and I captured some stunning shots of her as she read a heartfelt letter from Mark. It was a tender moment and I could tell how much the letter meant to her. She also spoke to some of her family members over FaceTime, allowing them to feel a part of this special elopement.

Embracing the Unexpected

On the big day, the couple were thrilled to find that they had the perfect weather — until it started raining. Despite the unexpected change in plans, Dal and Mark’s beautiful Andromeda Villa overlooking the sea proved ideal for the ceremony.

As the lovebirds exchanged their vows, their joy was beaming in the room despite the dark clouds rolling over the sky behind them. Their vows were sealed with an affectionate kiss.

Tender Love

After the ceremony, Dal and Mark had their first dance as husband and wife. They were so close and captivated by each other that it was as if they were the only two people in the room. As they swayed to the music, their love filled the air- I could barely hold back the tears. It was a truly magical moment that I will never forget.

From Raindrops to Romance

Even in the face of gloomy weather, Dal and Mark’s cheerful spirits remained undampened. Since I wasn’t flying out until late the next day, we decided to make the most of it! I suggested doing the couple shoot the following day since the weather was looking perfect.

Dal decided to keep her hair (done by Bella Damigou, a Santorini hair stylist) as it was and leave her eye makeup on overnight. After all, it would have cost her £500 to have them re-done the next day. She took matters into her own hands and re-did her makeup- it turned out amazing!

Unveiling Santorini’s Beauty

During the shoot, we explored the streets and made the most of the extraordinary scenery. Dal and Mark were truly in their element, and it was a joy to watch them laugh and kiss in front of the camera.

It looked as if the world had suddenly stopped for them, and the only thing that mattered was their union. Every step of the way, I could feel the love radiating from the two of them- this made the session all the more special.

A Journey of Love Amidst Stunning Backdrops

We captured some charming moments on our photoshoot in Santorini! From the picturesque shoreline to the backdrop of the island’s iconic white and blue buildings, our photos truly embodied Dal and Mark’s intimate destination wedding.

The couple was all smiles and laughter as we walked around the cobbled streets and took in the views. Witnessing the deep connection between Dal and Mark definitely made this one of the most memorable photoshoots I have ever done.

Getting the Shot

I even filmed some of the most beautiful and meaningful highlights of their day, like Dal reading her husband’s heartfelt letter and the ceremony itself. I couldn’t resist capturing some breathtaking aerial footage of Santorini. It added that extra touch of beauty to my video tribute for the couple.

I don’t usually photograph and film weddings alone, but I was more than happy to make an exception for Dal and Mark’s elopement in Santorini.
