The atmosphere during the preparations is different from anything that follows. There is anticipation, excitement and sometimes a little nervous energy, all unfolding in the background while everyone prepares for the moment they’ve been waiting for.

The bride’s preparations were surrounded by those closest to her, with the atmosphere gradually changing as the ceremony approached.

Her wedding dress became the centrepiece of the morning, while hair, makeup and finishing touches came together around her.

Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen were preparing nearby, with their own sense of anticipation building.

These moments don’t need much direction.

My approach to wedding photography is to give people space to experience the day while quietly documenting what happens naturally.

That means capturing the glance between two friends, a parent helping with the final details, the nervous smile before walking down the aisle and all the little interactions that might otherwise be forgotten.

And then the formalities gave way to celebration.

Champagne flowed, speeches brought laughter and emotion, and the couple’s first dance marked the beginning of a lively evening.

Rather than concentrating solely on the couple, I look around the room for the reactions happening everywhere else — the laughter between friends, parents watching proudly, guests raising their glasses and the spontaneous moments that happen when everyone relaxes.
